US Mobile cut ties with Google Ads after claiming the tech giant had unfair practices. The independent prepaid carrier’s CEO, Ahmed Khattak, recently slammed Google for allegedly trying “to screw us over”. Along with this, Khattak revealed that US Mobile has decided to change its marketing strategy by letting fans earn up to $1,500 for their referrals.
Instead of paying $300k per year in missed cashback incentives, Khattack decided to let customers use ACH payments to cover advertising costs. While they initially attempted to come up with an agreeable solution for both Google and US Mobile, the latter was unhappy with the company’s solution which would require them to spend more advertising money to offset the costs. As pointed out by AndroidAuthority, Khattack told Google to “take a long walk off a short bridge.”
While that’s a story for a different day, let’s talk about how you can earn money from US Mobile’s referral program. Here’s what you stand to earn:
First two referrals: $25
Third referral: $75
Fourth referral: $100
Every referral after: $225
Unfortunately, the small print says that you can only get up to 10 referrals per year. If you bring in over $600, you have to pay taxes on earnings since you will receive actual cash through a prepaid MasterCard. Customers who hit this threshold will receive a 1099 tax form from US Mobile.
