Earlier this year, AT&T experienced a massive data breach that affected nearly all of its customers. The hack occurred between April 14 and 25, which the wireless carrier learned of on April 19th. After its investigation, AT&T shared that the hacker was able to access their data through Snowflake, a third-party cloud company. The hacker was able to attack as much as 165 companies, including Advanced Auto Parts, Live Nation, and many more.
Recently, it was revealed that the individual behind the attacks has already been identified and taken into custody. 404Media reported that the attacks were done by Alexander “Connor” Moucka, a Canadian who goes by the aliases Waifu and Judische. While the publication did not yet reveal the charges against Moucka, sources have confirmed that the authorities caught the right guy.
Moucka was arrested on October 30th and appeared in court that day without a lawyer. His case was adjourned until November 5th to prepare a defense. He will later undergo extradition to face trial in the US.
