Last August, Metro by T-Mobile unveiled its newest campaign called “Nada Yada Yada.” The campaign took aim at larger providers owned by cable companies, which led to customers having “exploding bills” once their promotions ended.
Today, Visible by Verizon has responded to this campaign via an ad. The ad features actor Jason Alexander, who talks about how “other wireless” brands have skipped the disclaimers. Visible points the finger back to Metro by T-Mobile for selling its products with a “gotcha” trap.
In a statement, Verizon’s Value President Angie Klein said:
"Visible has nothing to hide. When we see other brands claim they have no 'yada, yada, yada' – but we know they do – we have to call BS on their 'BS-Free Promise.' If you want real transparency, simplicity, and honesty from your wireless carrier, Visible is the only choice. And who better to help tell that story than Jason Alexander, someone who made 'yada, yada, yada' famous.”
In response to this, Metro by T-Mobile published an open letter to the actor and pointed out some things that were missed. They also turned the tables around with this statement:
“PS: You’re aware that Visible is owned by Verizon, right? Because they’re like, the masters of yada yada with stuff like this, this and this. Just sayin’.”
