It looks like Verizon has finally revealed its plans for the smaller MVNO brands of Tracfone. This was something that many were unsure of ever since Big Red bought Tracfone. And thanks to NWIDA, we finally know what Verizon’s plans are for smaller brands like Page Plus, GoSmart, and Net10.
NWIDA actually got the information from Tyler Childress’ social media post. The post reads:
“Tracfone Wireless remains committed to ensuring brands in our authorized retailer channel remain competitive and brings the best value for the customer segments we serve in your stores. As more brands offer the ability to leverage the power of Verizon’s network, there is now a unique opportunity to streamline our core offerings that align with dealer feedback.
Effective 11/1/22, Page Plus, Net10, and GoSmart brands will no longer be available for new customers. This change will have no impact on existing customers. They can continue to refill service in-store through DAP.
Authorized retailers can continue to sell our Simple Mobile and Tracfone brands to new customers.”
According to the post, new customers will no longer be accepted by these brands starting November 1st. Existing customers can continue to refill. And retailers are told they can continue selling Simple and Tracfone brands.
