T-Mobile has good news in store for its customers. As seen in a leaked internal memo shared by The Mobile Report, it is improving how customers are upgrading their devices.
The report shows that customers no longer need to go to a physical T-Mobile store to buy a new phone and trade in their existing device. Instead, they can use the T-Mobile website or T Life/T-Mobile app. Through these platforms, you will need to tell T-Mobile the current model you are using, choose your preferred device, and take care of the remaining upgrade transaction. You don’t need to leave your home to complete the process.
Additionally, T-Mobile has rectified three concern areas involved in its phone upgrade steps. The first is that you will now get a clearer understanding of the summary in your cart. This makes the details of the transaction clearer and easier to understand. On T-Mobile’s part, it will reduce the amount of calls that its customer care will take care of in relation to this confusion.
The second improvement that the Un-carrier is taking care of is that it will be removing the minimum $49.99 EIP cost on accessory purchases. This change, however, will only be available on online purchases. If you purchase an accessory via a retail store, you will still need to meet the minimum cost to put it on your EIP.
Lastly, T-Mobile will now include the whole trade-in value in your recurring device credits (RDC) instead of separating the trade-in value with the actual and promotional amount. This makes the whole trade-in value less confusing to users.
These issues will reportedly be fixed starting today, August 29, 2024.
