When LG announced that it would no longer be producing mobile devices, it left a number of its existing customers worried about the future of their phones. But the manufacturer promised that it would continue to release updates and security patches to their flagship devices.
Today, however, we’re learning of an anonymous tip that the LG Wing could soon be compatible with Verizon’s mid-band 5G network. And this is a reason to celebrate, especially for those who are still using the device.
As revealed by PCMag, an update may soon be released that will let LG Wing users connect to Verizon’s mid-band 5G network. And true enough, this was confirmed by Big Red itself.
According to Verizon, the update is currently being tested in its labs. This means that a wide distribution is not yet available.
The report says the C-band update is named F100VM20e or System Update 11. Right now, the most recent OS update for the Wing is F100VM20d.
If all goes well in its testing, Verizon may release the update in just a few weeks. Of course, this should mean that there will be no major bugs detected.
