Have you been diligently checking your T-Mobile bill? It turns out that some former Sprint customers who decided to stay with T-Mobile after the merger have been seeing an unnecessary fee on their monthly bills.
As shared by a Redditor, some customers have apparently been paying a monthly fee for their Sprint Flex Lease program years after the merger. The Redditor, who also happens to be a representative of T-Mobile, advised readers to check their bill and to talk to a representative so that the fee can be removed.
In the post, the Redditor said:
“I see it every single day people coming in for upgrades and on sprint, and they were on a month to month lease program that they’re paying usually per line with no end day! It’s till the end of time! It can be removed with a press of a button. So go in-store and get your account features looked at.”
Through Sprint’s Flex Lease program, customers were able to get a new phone at a low monthly rate. They simply had to make the payments until the contract ends. If they wanted to own the device, they had to pay an extra fee aside from the monthly lease.
Before the merger, Sprint had already faced a class-action lawsuit over this program. Users alleged that Sprint tricked its customers into these agreements while trapping them in recurring fees. They had to manually have the fee terminated even if the contract had expired. The lawsuit also claimed that some customers were prevented from canceling the plan even after their lease period had ended.
