The LG Wing 5G on Verizon’s network is finally getting an update to Android 11. Yes, Android 11. Even though most of the newer smartphones today have already been updated to the latest Android 12 OS, the LG Wing 5G is now just getting an Android 11 update.
This was earlier revealed in Verizon’s support webpage. But to be clear, Android 11 has rolled out to several devices long before today. In fact, both the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra received the same OS update almost a year ago. And these two phones were released around the same time as the LG Wing 5G.
It’s important to remember though that LG has already shut down its mobile operations. So receiving an Android 11 update is a huge welcome for LG Wing 5G users. It just shows that LG continues to support its customers.
When it shut down its mobile division, LG gave a three year pledge for premium smartphones. This included the LG Wing 5G. And even with Android 12 already out in the open, there’s no guarantee that this will be rolling out to the LG Wing 5G anytime soon. Given its progress with Android 11, it’s possible that the latest Android OS version could be released after a year too.
