Starting Wednesday September 10, the HTC One (M8) smartphone will be getting an update on its Android operating system. It is not quite Android 4.4.4 yet, but owners of the device should still have plenty of reason to enjoy the updated.
As tweeted by HTC Vice President of Product Management Mo Versi, the Android 4.4.3 KitKat will begin to roll out in two days, specifically on the 10th this month. Owners of the HTC One (M8) can now expect their smartphones to have the Extreme Power Savings mode, which is a nifty feature to have. The Extreme Power Savings mode lets users conserve a few more hours of their phone's battery by turning off or minimizing other components of their device.
In his tweet, Versi further said that the Android update for the HTC One (M8) will be rolled out via over-the-air (OTA) install. Users can manually check for the update by going to Settings > Phone Update > Check for Update.
No other details were shared by Versi regarding the coming Android updates for the HTC One (M8). But once the roll out commences on Wednesday, the folks at HTC are expected to reveal more information. In the meantime, owners of the device will have to exercise a little bit of patience.
