For the nth time, BlackBerry has announced that it will be putting an end on things. And they mean it this time. The Verge, however, doesn’t believe it will be the last time the company will announce something like this. But if today’s report is to be listened to, it does seem like a very definite ending for the brand.
According to BlackBerry, any phone or tablet that is running BlackBerry’s OS (whether BlackBerry 7.1 or earlier, BlackBerry 10, and BlackBerry PlayBook) will “no longer reliably function.”
This means that you won’t be able to make phone calls, use data, send text messages, or call 911. But if you are using a BlackBerry device running Android OS, it should continue to work normally.
If you’re still using a BlackBerry device, you should take this as a reason to upgrade your device.
