T-Mobile is a great carrier. The "Magenta" carrier offers a variety of different plans that are easy to understand when shopping for a new plan. When it comes to choosing a cell phone plan that's right for you, there are a number of different factors to consider. These include whether or not you need an individual or family plan, how much you travel and features like how much data you will need. Coverage is of course important, but these days most of the major carriers offer fairy uniform coverage, so that is not as much of a factor as it used to be. T-Mobile was the front runner of major carriers when it came to offering unlimited data. They are also the only company to offer an all-in plan, which includes all taxes and fees in the same base price. If they say the price is $40 or $50 a month - that's exactly what you can expect to pay.

While T-Mobile offers just a regular ONE plan, the ONE Plus plan offers a wealth of additional features for just an extra $10 a month. Some of the base features included in both the ONE and the ONE Plus plan include unlimited talk, text & data at home and unlimited text & data in over 140 different countries. For an additional $10 a month, however, the ONE Plus plan also offers unlimited HD streaming, 10GB of 4G LTE mobile hotspot data, unlimited 3G data at 2x the data speed abroad and unlimited in-flight Wi-Fi on Gogo®-enabled flights. It also offers voicemail to text service which allows you to read voicemails instead of having to listen to them.
Like all carriers, if you really want the best deals on your cell phone plan, family plans are the best. Even just adding one additional person can decrease your monthly bill by $10 per line and if you have four people on your plan, it will cut your monthly bill for each line almost in half.
A plan with two people in it will run $120, but at that point you also pick up a free Netflix subscription. Four lines, however, will only cost you $160, making it an excellent deal. You can also add all of the ONE Plus benefits to your plan for an additional $10 per line.
At one time, pre-paid plans were largely only used by commitment phobes who didn't want to get locked into a contract, the parents of teenagers and adults with low credit scores. While T-Mobile was one one of the first carriers to also do away with contract plans, pre-paid plans are still gaining in popularity thanks to some really great deals. Also, since pre-paid plans use the same networks as regular plans, the coverage is exactly the same for often a lot less money.

For just an additional $5 a month, you can get all of the same benefits of the postpaid ONE plan without a credit check. The T-Mobile ONE prepaid plan offers you an unlimited 3G data for your hotspot, unlimited calling anywhere in North American and unlimited data in over 140 countries. It also offers unlimited music streaming that doesn't count against your data from a number of the most popular streaming services, such as Pandora, Spotify and others.
If you don't want to set up an automatic payment to withdraw from your bank or debit card every month, or if you only use your cell phone sporadically, then a pay-as-you-go plan might be just right for you. For about the price of a fancy latte at your favorite upscale coffee house, you can get either 30 minutes of talk, 30 texts or any combination of the two up to 30. If you go over 30, then each additional minute of talk or each text (both sending and receiving) will cost you 10 cents each. While there is no data included in the plan, you can add up to 500MB of 4G LTE data for $5 a day or you can add 1GB of data for $10 a week.
A pay-as-you-go plan can work well for a wide variety of reasons. If you want a cell phone for emergencies or that you only use rarely or even just need an extra mobile HotSpot on occasion that you don't want to pay a monthly bill for, then a pay-as-you-go plan might be just right for you.
