Earlier this month, Sony unveiled a new smartphone called the Xperia 5 V. This is revealed to be a compact flagship device that will rival devices like the Samsung Galaxy S24.
At the time of its unveiling, a US release date was not announced. And as it turns out, the device won’t be coming to the US’ shores anytime soon.
Sony confirmed to Android Police that it "will not [be] carrying the Xperia 5 V in the North American market this year. We want to focus on our flagship Xperia 1 V.”
The publication points out that the device’s availability in the US could still be open for interpretation. But considering other devices like the Samsung Galaxy S24 or OnePlus 12 could be released by then, there won’t be as much attention on the Xperia 5 V anymore.
If this is a device you are waiting to come out in the market, you’ll be disappointed to know that it won’t be available in the US. But you can still get it in Europe for €999 or around $1,049.
